How to Change Your Apple Account (Apple ID) Country to Indonesia

The country or region of your Apple Account determines which App Store you use, the currency prices are shown in, the payment methods you can pick, and the gift cards you can redeem. A gift card can only be redeemed in the country where it was bought, so an Indonesian iTunes Gift Card only goes into an Apple Account set to the Indonesia region.

If your account was created with another country, say the United States or Singapore, you can change it to Indonesia. The steps below follow Apple’s official guide.

What to settle first

Apple refuses the country change while any of the following is still outstanding. Settle them first so the process goes smoothly.

  • Apple Account balance. Spend the remaining balance in the App Store or another Apple service. If what is left is less than the price of a single item, contact Apple Support. How to see your balance is in how to check your Apple Account balance.
  • Subscriptions. Cancel any subscription that blocks the change, then wait until its billing period ends.
  • Pending items. Wait until memberships, pre-orders, movie rentals, Season Passes, and store credit refunds are complete. Pre-orders can be cancelled.
  • Payment method. Have a payment method that is valid in Indonesia ready. According to Apple’s list of payment methods, Indonesia accepts credit and debit cards, DANA, GoPay, ShopeePay, and Apple Account balance.
  • Family Sharing. If you are a member of a Family Sharing group, leave the group first.
  • Content you have bought. Some content may not be available in the Indonesian store. Download the apps, music, movies, TV shows, and books you want to keep on your device first.

How to change the country on iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings, then tap your name at the top.
  2. Tap Media & Purchases, then tap View Account if it appears. Sign in if asked.
  3. Tap Country/Region.
  4. Choose Indonesia, then tap Continue.
  5. Read the Terms & Conditions, then tap Agree.
  6. Choose a payment method, enter your payment details and an Indonesian billing address, then tap Done.

How to change the country on a Mac

  1. Open the Apple Music app or the Apple TV app.
  2. In the menu bar, choose Account, then Account Settings. Sign in if asked.
  3. Click Country/Region, choose Indonesia, then click Continue.
  4. Read the Terms & Conditions, then click Agree.
  5. Choose a payment method, enter your payment details and billing address, then click Done.

How to change the country on a Windows PC

  1. Open the Apple Music app or the Apple TV app.
  2. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, or click Sign In and sign in with your Apple Account.
  3. Click View My Account, then Change Country or Region.
  4. Choose Indonesia, read the Terms & Conditions, then click Agree.
  5. Choose a payment method, enter your payment details and billing address, then click Continue.

How to change the country on the web

  1. Sign in to account.apple.com with your Apple Account.
  2. Choose Personal Information, then Country/Region.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

After the region changes to Indonesia

How to pay

Payment methods currently available:

  • Bank transfer: BCA or Mandiri. The account number and holder appear after you place the order.
  • QRIS / e-wallet (Indonesia): GoPay, OVO, DANA, LinkAja, ShopeePay, m-banking. Scan the jeruk.id QRIS from your payment app (Indonesian apps only).
  • Convenience store (Indonesia): Indomaret, Alfamart, Alfamidi, Lawson. The payment code for the cashier is sent by jeruk.id support on WhatsApp after you confirm.
  • Phone credit (pulsa): Telkomsel or XL. Credit prices differ from bank transfer prices and are shown in the form.
  • Crypto (USDT or USDC): USDT: BEP20, Solana, ERC20, Arbitrum One, opBNB, TRC20, TON · USDC: Polygon PoS, Sui, Solana, BEP20, Arbitrum One, Sonic, ERC20, Base. The USDT or USDC amount is calculated at the rate when the order is placed.

Questions about changing your Apple Account region

Will I lose the apps I have bought?

Apps that are already installed don’t disappear right away, but some content may not be available for re-download in the Indonesian store. That is why you should download the content you want to keep before changing the country.

Why can’t the Country/Region setting be changed?

Usually because there is still a balance, a subscription that hasn’t ended, a pending item, or your account is still part of a Family Sharing group. Go through the list under “What to settle first” again.

Do I have to use a credit card?

No. Apple accepts several payment methods for Indonesia, including DANA, GoPay, ShopeePay, and debit cards. Once the region has changed, you can also add balance with a gift card.

I don’t want to change my old account. Is there another way?

You can create a new Apple Account with Indonesia as the country and use it just for purchases in the Indonesian store. Purchases on the old account stay on the old account.
